I"m looking for an extra inch or so at the front of my engine bay . . .

Can i happily slice away at the bonnet support panel (bit with the bonnet catch on it...) without upsetting the structural "integrity" of the front end ?

I know clubbie guys can, but their panel is bolted, not welded in ......

All will be revealed in time.....

i don't think it does much in terms of suspension or engine carrying, but it may make your bonnet rattle and result in uneven gaps around it, or at worst turn you headlights into possum hunters. if you think it is worth it, make a couple of gussets at each end to support the top of the panels without blocking the hole too much
