Came across this "Works Spec" GT For Sale on the NZ trademe site... "One of two GT Clubmans built in 1971 at Abingdon Special Tuning in the UK to Group 2 specs for NZ Motor Corporation to compete in the 1972 Heatway International Motor Rally." http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/0001 ... 571267.htm Anyone know much about these cars ? Just fascinated.... |

Is there any rally oriented reason as to why it doesn't have it's metal arch extensions? |

its a pom built gt. no arches as std. but this one came with gp2's aparantl the seller is getting the orriginals. |

A few years ago on one of my trips to NZ, I got to have a long close look at this terrific piece of Mini history. I believe, this and the sister car GC3 (which is also in NZ) was the last works Mini to compete in an event. The mighty Andrew Cowan drove in the Heatway 
Its a little bit disturbing to read that the engine has been dissassembled for inspection etc....Ohh! and it had black flares on when I saw it.....sure hope it goes to a good home
