What are the benefits of using adjustable tierods? What part of the suspension setup do they change? |

Front Castor. Adjustable lower arms will change the camber angle at the front. Here are some diagrams: http://www.melroset-tops.com/camber_cas ... efined.htm ![]() |

Slightly complicated by the fact that changing one also changes the other.... |

Another benefit is that they are made out of a stronger thicker metal.. Less likely to bend. |

KennyKix,,,if you can picture the front end of a motor bike or push bike yeah?????????? well that "Rake" or "Trail" or angle that the front forks make is similar to a car in that we (as car owners) call it "Caster" & simply put --> if you pull the lower ball joint even more forward than it allready is, then you will have increased that "Rake/Trail/Caster" But,,,seeing as the lower control arm is at such an angle forwards also (IE: not being perpendicular to the straight ahead line of the car) Then by pulling the front arms forwards, you will have just decreased the Camber angle at the very same time, so therfor a "FULL" set of adjustable arms is really the go, so that you can wiggle/inch by inch/ all the settings to the right spot. in this case wind out the lower arms as you pull the front ones forwards tll you find the happy spot that you`re after for both camber & caster,,,then you`ll need to re-adjust the "toe/tracking" setting as it will be way out by this time too. easy-peasy ![]() & yeah , i sell em too ![]() |

So the adjustable tie bars are basically the same as the standard ones except they have a thread at one end. Then another piece with the holes in it and a threaded hole to match the one on the rod, and a locking nut? How long is the thread on the rod and how long is the thread on the other piece? Do you get enough stability if the thread is almost out? Is there much room between the holes and the thread so when the rod comes through it doesn't hit? Or am i thinking too much about it. How much adjustment does it actually do, ie how many turns actually change something? |

OH & Miniboy1962,,,don`t muck around, if you want to buy some adjustable arms then buy ones that have allready been tested & sorted by people "In the KNow" they will have enough strength, enough thread, enough adjustment , enough to do the job right first time. |
