I am in the process of rebuilding my 1980 Moke and it is at the point of getting a new canopy. Just wondering if anyone could recommend a trimmer in Brisbane (or else where as long as they don't need the car to make it) that has made these in the past. One problem I can see is that I do not have any doors for the current canopy and would have to say that the roof part I do have is very average in its design/shape at best so have concerns about this being used as a partern for these that have not made one in the past. The research I have done has only uncovered GB's Mini & Moke world in Sydney who will send them out pre-made ($1895) but am not sure of the quality/fit. There is also a guy who sells them on ebay for $1000 but again the quality/fit is of concern.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The trimmer who made mine is now out of business. I don't know of any trimmers that have made them before in Brisbane.
As you probably already know, there are two types of rear section. Late Mokes like yours and mine have the canopy out at/near the edge of the rear arches while earlier ones had the angle piece on the arch further in at the inside edge. Make sure you get the right shape. I think the ones on Ebay say they fit all with just a few adjustments. That's bull I reckon because the back part would be dodgy.

If I was getting a new one I'd get it made to suit zip-up doors because the lift-the-dot type doors blow goats.
Unfortunately I reckon you've got little chance of not having to leave the car with them.

Get on the Moke forum and ask there. www.moke.com.au
