Apparently way back when, we were streets ahead of the uk, (probably due to the heat) to stop using sliding windows. Does anyone what year and model this was stopped? In particular what year did sliding windows finish on Coopers? |

Cooper 998 was the last Cooper here to get sliders- all Oz Cooper S had windups. Not sure when the sliders were dropped from 850 production, which continued up to ~1967 as the Morris Mini Minor. |

i believe the morris (australian) mini minor always had wind ups from the factory. the sliders stopped with the morris 850s in early 1965. i may not be correct though but it is what i always thought as aussie mini minors were built using delux shells, hence the wind ups. |

Thanks. Do you know if you can fit windup windows to sliding window doors? |

WHile anything is possible , this isn't without some serious (and very serious , almost impossible) panel beating , just get some wind-ups and sell your sliders . |

yeah the wind-up's had some pretty big differences. Better off finding yourself some decent wind-ups (trying to put wind-up's in sliders is making life hard and expensive!!! ![]() ![]() I have a few doors at home. Most of the k's had the older hand lever type handles and wind-ups then the leyland's went to the more modern flush latch type. That in my opinion are not as great looking. People are always happy to get their hand's on the sliders. they are pretty hard to come by a decent pair now. |
