Nah, you're not allowed to look like, in any way, a Police car. No blue/red lights, no signage. Party poopers. ![]() |

There are a few ex-police cars going around at shows, and I don't think there's any issue to display a car like that. Generally they have signage and lights etc that is easily removed to drive home. |

or you could just have your mini go through a police car stage. say if you have a black mini and needed to replace some panels, you could replace them with white panels. look a bit like a american black'n'white. until you finaly decide what colour you want. also your mini gets more attention with odd panels. i would know. ![]() |

An identical Chrysler appears at most classic car shows, shows up and turns the sirens on. I remember reading on some Chrysler web site under what rules they can display the car with siren and lights. ![]() Whilst looking for the Charger, I found the followng website with these pics.. http://www.inthejob.com/nsw.html Here's an 850 police car. ![]() ![]() Here are some pursuit cars, circa 1967. ![]() |

If you forget about subtle changes to the mechanicals (like big carby's) the Cooper S chasers weren't that different to ordinary mini's (at least in NSW). They had a rotating flashing blue light that was magnetically attached to the roof in a chase, a mesh metal sunvisor across the top of the windscreen and SOME had a uhf aerial from the centre of the roof. Interior had a big calibrated speedo bolted to the top of the steering column and a two way uhf radio mounted in the parcel tray. They nearly all had Dunlop sp41 radial tyres and they came in a variety of colours. Nothing especially police about the colours. Easy to mock without upsetting legalities |

It is legal but you wont be able to register it unless you do so as a club car. The laws are there to stop people from impersonating a police officer or that you may represent the law of the state. good luck Be nice to see a replica flying around |
