G?day to the bloke in the blue ute, I saw today at Anketell Road Intersection in Kwinana.
I was in the old bomb gemini, I noticed the Ausmini sticker and gave you a few beeps of the horn.

Do you happen to be a member of SDMC?

First time on WA roads hey, imported or just been worked on a long time?

Was that your ute LS1380?

Original ute hey, lucky bugger. I'd trade all my vans to get one of those :)
I couldnt dream of choppin a van to make one myself, so I'll have to see what they have left in england one day.

Yep that looks like the one! (Though I only saw it from behind)

How did it handle the trip across the country?

Its a good looking little car,you dont happen to have some more pictures of the rear tray? I have a van shell that is not good for anything but a conversion. The problem is I have no idea how the original utes rear trays have folded and reinfored the sides of the walls. Maybe a few photos could give me a idea of where to start.

The ute isn't mine, it belongs to a friend.
As far as I know the ute was driven to Brisbane from. . .err. . .somewhere else in Qld before being trucked to Perth. . .so the trip was handled fine :D
I'm sure John wouldn't mind me taking some 'photos of the tray - although you may have to wait a while - he works up north and just left for another stint - and I'm not sure how long he'll be away for this time.
When he gets back, I'll post up some pics if he's happy for me to do so.
And as LS1380 said, wait 'till you see his 'other' ute. . .REALLY something special - unfinished, it looks sorta something like this:

No worries I'm happy to wait, (is he is happy) I cant see myself starting on that project for a while.

Yeah noticed that picture of "the chocolate box" on mini central. Looks like it will be a pretty sweet machine then, pardon the pun.
