ok i have a clubman and whenever i would use my horn my radio would lose all power and all stations would detune, also when i come to a stop when my lights r on my radio turns off from lack of power. also yes, when stopped at traffic lights with my lights on my blinkers go slower. never had a problem starting it or anything and was a new battery. i got my alternator fixed by an electrician friend, sumthin in it was all broken and stuff and it wasnt charging properly. and since then my horn works good and doesnt shut off anything... but still have the other problems but not AS bad, will get it fixed soon though cause i work nights and its a bit annoying and i want more speakers so they will take up more power. haha thats my story, probably ur alternator not charging battery properly/fully, so u have enough power to do most normal things but added stuff is just too much 4 it. my horn is real quiet and lame and have had people laugh at it ![]() ![]() |

Sounds like you need to check the connections at the base of the steering column. The wires coming down from the indicator connect to the main loom a couple of inches past the end of the steering column shroud. Also, take off the steering column shroud by undoing the screws and check the contacts at the base of the indicator stalk. Blowing/ brushing out the dust will do half the job, but some contact cleaner will finish it nicely. Before using this stuff though, check that it doesn't react with the plastic first. |

also check ALL the earth connections, especially the strap from body - battery, and the big one in the engine bay. clean them up and you may notice a difference in all your electrical stuf. |
