How to Modify Your Mini by David Vizard!!! Been meaning to get it for like 10 years! Is quite a good read! Recomend it to any 1 who is playing around with there mini.

I'd get his `yellow book' too, "Tuning BL's A Series Engine"... 8)
Much more detail on engine mods.
Not totally up to date with current practice, but probably the best all round A series engine mod book.

Another worthy book (I think) is Des Hammill's "How to Power Tune the BMC/BL/Rover 1275 A Series Engine", although it does have a few glaring errors in it. Has pretty good details of head mods.
He also does a version of this book for the 998, which includes details and pics on notching the block to clear the exhaust valves when using a 1275 head and modified cams.

The tuning BL's A series is another on my list!!!! Ive already got Des Hammils book. That has come in handy!
