I have a 75' Mini (sort of K - no hydro with puddle stick).

I've stripped down the car to a painted shell.

The car needs some minor panel beating on a few panels, the boot bottom inside panel needs to be replaced (rust), the left hand side front panel needs work to be replaced (It has the rust in the normal place).

I would like to have the car blasted (some sort of blasting, bead or sand) and then quickly painted.

Any ideas how i should go about getting the panel beating, blasting/paint striping done?

Should i convert the car back to a rolling shell? or should i build a small trolly to move the shell around.

Is there a place that can do it all in one go. Or should i go to a panel beater then to a sand blaster then to painter?

And can people recommend places around melbourne that can do these steps?

a good friend of mine is a panel beater (but he doesnt do backyard jobs) anyway i was talking to him and he told me sandblasting a shell is a no go, creates to much heat and distorts panels, perfectly fine for places like underbody and door sills but not for outer panels.
also trying to get all the sand out of the shell is a pain i hear.
you can take the car to a grade panels in hidelberg, they are mini specialists, and will carry out any work you need done

You can get the car bead blasted, aparently it dosnt get the panels as hot, which in turn it aparently dosnt distort them..
But yeah i would take it to the panel shop and once the beating and all the welding is done get it blasted and then painted....

Hmm, i'm i think they are a bit out of my price range, 10-12g for a minor amount of panel work and spray taking six months?.

If i had more room at home, i would be happy to do it all.

I'm wondering if anybody else knows of some where that could do it? or how to do it in stages?

I pay between $2000-$3000 for a full respray in 2pak. I give them the car with paint stripped and etch primer on. This would include rust repairs.

what price range are you looking at for the rebuild, and what sort of quality are you after? eg a show quality spray job or just something as a daily driver
