It's getting to the point where I really need a holiday. I haven't had one in three years aside from the Christmas/Easter breaks, and I just need to go somewhere that isn't here. SO....I know this sounds rediculous, but if there is somewhere I can go where I can hire a mini, it might just persuade me to go there. Does anybody know if there is a company anywhere that will hire out minis or mokes?? I've looked at some websites that do classic cars and the like, but no-where seems to have them... Can anyone help?? |

There is two places that quickly spring to mind One is a heritage car rental place in the inner suburbs of Sydney. They did have a web site and perhaps some one here has more details. They rent jags, MGs, and some other historics and a Mini Cooper was amongst the cars. I think its (again) like selling an unborn baby for the money they want. The second is somewhere in rural Tasmania. There was an article in Mini Experience about this. Watto !!!!!!! They buy and restore old minis specifically for tourists to hire. I would dig out the reference but I am packing up a house for a major clean so we can sell it and move. Most magazines and books are in the rented storage. |

I've fanged the arse of a Moke on Magnetic Island and done the same to a Clubman from Launceston Mini Hire. Good value thumping someone else's mini. The Mokes are definitely still there, I don't know about the Launceston business though. |

Apparently nobody who would spend the approximate purchase price of a roadworthy mini on yearly membership wanted to waste one of their weekends on driving that rather than the ferraris and porsches they also have. The gift voucher just for a weekend was the better part of $500. Sorry, but I'd want better than a mini for a weekend than that One is a heritage car rental place in the inner suburbs of Sydney. Here's the little beasty we hired for a week in Port Douglas. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sarah reckons the only reason I wanted to go there was to hire a Moke. It certainly gave me motivation to finish my own yellow Moke. ![]() |
