Just a friendly plug for SodaBlast.

www.sodablast.com.au or PH: 1800 SODABLAST

I have had first hand experience with them, and their blasting method. It is quite amazing how ordinary bi carb soda can take a car back to bare metal, AND NOT DAMAGE THE METAL / PLASTIC / RUBBER etc at all!

No heat distortion of panels, in fact it is quite gentle on the panels, yet takes off ALL the paint and filler etc in quick time.

Very impressive and affordable.

They have a permanent blast site now in Tarren Point (Sydney) and are expanding into other states soon.

GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE.

$90 to blast 6 steelies! Cheap considering I got quoted $30 per wheel for sandblasting. :)

Yep, quoted the minimum 15 minutes time slot that it would take to do the wheels.

Anybody else got any ideas for removing white paint from some steelies? :)

Here is what the soda blasting did to my steelies. :D

BEFORE

AFTER
Bare metal, not a trace of paint, brake dust, or grease. Just needed a sponge bath to remove the residual powder.

That is outstanding! To be able to see the original welding and scratch free metal - How clever. I wonder if it's possible to buy the soda in bulk to do it at home with a hand held blaster. The thing that puts me off doing any sandblasting in my driveway is the complaints from the neighbours about the residual sand.
