Does anyone know if the GPS devices like these ... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Navman-iCN52 ... dZViewItem ... show current speed? I'd like to know. As my speedo is out of whack, and I am unsure as to what revs i should be pulling in final drive with the 10" wheels and unknown diff ratio.

No idea, but if your speedo was accurate with the old wheels, work out the circumference of them, then work out the circumference of the new 10inchers and develop a ratio. Or just scab someones normal GPS, only issue being that there is a reasonable time delay, ie when accelerating its slow as crap to catch up. Failing that get a digital bike speedo and key in your wheel circumference just to establish how far out the speedo is. All options are way cheaper than satellite navigation systems, but then not as bling, that said I have seen a chrome speedo for a bike...... Chris |

 The bling factor of the unit is tempting, and it would also be advantageous for when travelling.
But yeah, I gotta see if there's any gauge calibration places around in Adelaide. Its pretty annoying really. Sitting on 60km/h (which is probably around 50, maybe a bit more) and having people overtake you... but then you catch up to some other people, which makes u think that the probability of it being 50 when displaying 60 is indeed false

I have a Garmin GPS thingy. Shows current speed and trip meters, timers, etc. Touchscreen makes life so easy on it too. No buttins on it, except the power. |

Whack the car on a dyno... you can find out what power it puts out as well as work out how accurate your speedo is. |

If you genuinely want a GPS system... i had a play with the TomTom system at an electronics store. By far the best system they had. I tried the Navman and Garmin ones that were there and they were cumbersome to use. The ones that you had to use a stylus for were retarded since it was hard enough to use when standing in front of it let alone when you're in a car. Also, amongst other things, the TomTom one had a bluetooth feature whereby you can connect to your mobile send and receive SMS and phonecalls using the touchscreen. |

If you have a laptop, there are lots of free programs that will work with a cheapy handheld GPS hooked up to the serial port |

I've never been that lost in Sydney before, but it would be nice after the 15th hour of crossing the Nullabor..I start to see things after that point. |
