Hey all

Well after being neglected for a few months, I finally got around to trying to get the General running again. Most of the accessories had been removed in preparation for the removal of the engine due to a sale. Sale fell through (f^&king wally - don't worry, nobody on here :P ), and due to other commitments, sat like that for about 3 months.

Well I finally cleared enough space in the new garage to fit the bastard in, and trailered it around from My olds' house. It's running again, and I'm actually hoping to get it over to Mini Classic on Saturday for a run on the dyno - since it never had it's final tune after being built!! I'm then hoping to run it on Sunday at a Khanacross (check back later, once I confirm all the details of it, I'll place it in the events and cruises section). Once I get some compression and dyno figures and give it it's final fling, I may have another interested party wanting to purchase it, otherwise it'll be back in the for sale forum, or may even end up on eBay.

Good to see your getting it going again Bob, I just don't see why your selling it. By the time you can build it up again the price will be dbl to triple the price. Keep it i say keep it. You don't need food!

Cheers
Aaron

May not need food, but do need rally car!!

Seriously though, I need some money NOW for debts and other projects. There's no point in having so much money in engine tied up in such a crap body. Plan is to rip out the engine and sell it, and then do a long-term, bare metal resto on the body. I can always build up another engine down the track. I managed to build this one in about 3 weeks so I'm pretty sure if I slowly build up a collection of the parts I need I can probably do it cheaper by buying bargains when I find them. You find that when you're in a hurry like I was, everything costs more!!!
