I'm thinking of adding a 2.5" exhaust system to my mini to give me a bit more power up the hills.
I saw in a Honda magazine one that i liked and thought it was pretty good value for $375.75 (incl gst.) fitted, so i might get it done before i go to geelong.

The real question is how many more horsies will this add?

there is a simple answer to that Will...

Just multiply the width of your muffler tip X the size of your aircleaner diameter. the
result should be roughly on your motor an increase of around 6.5-9.3 hp

but dont expect any more torque from that set up.... but dont worry as it is not needed. Horses is important torque is pointless.

Oh and BTW, it will increase your minis top speed to 169.7km/h from 152.3

Yep a pod filter will add way more power i reckon!!!

You'd easy get 0-100 in like 10 seconds with weight reduction!!

Like taking out your spare seat too ;)

and carpets...

its like you need to figure out how to use the clutch properly though...

if you go BAM..and get no wheelspin it will increase your power to weight ratio only if the tyres squeel over 100decibels per netwon of rubber which will be burned in the take off.

remember that kids when you wanna take off fast

But wouldnt the sound be trapped by all of the burnout smoke that it might create?

if u time it just right u can get ur subs to jab at just the right time of take off that it adds up to 7.2hp of initial boost. so the faster and louder ur subs r pumping the faster u go. plus chicks luv it.

yea it depends on how many megahertz you are putting out with your subs mate. See, the extra 20 decibles needed to create the correct power increase is gained by the potential diference of the voice coils... Similar as Stuvz was saying just before

Well that also depends on the subs bro, if you have the subs pumping the bass out at the right angles..due to superpositioning of sound waves the force brought about by this it is easy to understand the smoke is taken out of the equation.

Nothing wrong with Honda's mate, they really are nice cars.

But you forgot the FULLY sick twin-overhead sunvisors, and the ported and polished glovebox. They make more difference than P plates down the quarter
