Hey all I'm thinking of going this year. I've always wanted to go, and since this is the last year of it, I really want to go. I thought I couldn't afford it, but just realised I have enough Frequent Flyer miles for a Return Flight ![]() Can anyone over west recommend somewhere cheap that's near enough to the action? Can anyone that's been before suggest when I should plan to arrive/leave ?? Might try and catch up with a few of our western cousins for a beer or five ![]() Anyone else planning on going?? At this stage I'm considering going it alone, but would welcome anyone else to watch it with. It's on the 26th to 29th of October - the week after Mini's Down Under. |

I'll be in for a beer or two & and some rally action. If you want central accomodation, the Mercure is excellent & a short walk to the special stage. If you want cheap accomodation for the Southern stages, I've got a free granny flat. |

Last I heard was that this Rally Australia was to be the last one held in this country for a while. Is that true? At least if it is for once I am on the right side of the country, and next year I'll be in the right place for the Hay 40th. |

There's a lot of rumours and buzz around that an announcement will be made soon about moving it to Queensland. A lot more convenient for us East-Coasters, but I've always wanted to go to the Rally in Perth so this is my last chance. Unfortunately you guys have a government of fun police that want nothing more to do with the rally. I would've thought it'd bring in a heap of money?? |

Unfortunately you guys have a government of fun police that want nothing more to do with the rally. I would've thought it'd bring in a heap of money?? Yes the then Minister or Tourism canned this event within two weeks of being in this position.(he is no longer this Minister). They are complete dickheads, and have no idea how many international and enterstates people this Event attracted to WA.Also the amount of parttime work it gave people. Rumour has it that Rally Oz is struggling to get enough volunteers this year,as they also want to go and watch the last Rally Oz. |

I may even consider officialling - doing a road closure or similar is still sometimes a good way to see a rally - especially if I'm on as tight a budget as I think I'm going to be ![]() I just want to see the Super Special Stage - and make sure I can go through the service park. Are the forest stages really remote and hard to get to? Is there heaps of traffic congestion? I have to decide whether I'm going to hire a car or just go with pubic transport!! (Don't bother pointing out that spelling mistake - I just hate public transport) ![]() |

Morning Bob-Yes heaps of traffic heading out the "forest stages".You have to leave very early to get a good viewing spot. The buses that you can book get closer parking to the stages(not so far to walk). |
