Hi,

So I began door trims yesterday and first plan of attack was to remove the existing trim and use as a template.

Well, sounds easy... BUT... how the heck do I get the Window Winder off... its stuck and wont budge. (Rusted on probably?)

I put a screwdriver behind it, and tried to pry it off... nope... nothing.
My old man reckons I can buy a tool that is like a claw (similar to a flywheel puller I guess) to get things off but I dont want to yet.

Anyone got any ideas? WD-40 the shite out of it and let it sit overnight??
Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Peter.

Try taking two rubber hammers ($2.00 at the junk shops) and hitting the winder from each side at the same time.. That should do the trick..

Haha - Its off!!!!

OK, so I grabbed the WD-40 (it solves everything :) )
I sprayed it absolutely all over the winder and behind it...

Then I bashed the winder with a hammer.
Nope, still stuck.

So I tried 2 rubber mallets... nope, still stuck.

Time for brute force...
I get TWO hammers (normal with claw on the back) and wedged them behind the winder.
I pulled and jiggled until the bastard came off!

Now its off and getting cleeeeeaaaaannned and sanded before going back on... HAH you little scummy winder - I WIN!

Peter.
