See Mick's picture here with the little copper oil pressure line coming from it: ![]() Put a "T" piece in there & fit you oil temp there (along with your pressure gauge/switch). The bigger fitting below it to the left is the oil pressure relief valve, and you're best off leaving that as is. |

Ok I think youre confusing some things here. The large fitting at the top of the last photo with the thick rubber hose comming out of it is the inlet for the oil cooler piping. The thick rubber hose is not radiator hose but an oil hose. Dont worry about any of this if you are not running an oil cooler. The smaller fitting immediately under and to the right of (with thin copper pipe with a bulb at the end coming out of it and taking a 90deg angle) it is the oil pressure gauge outlet. Thats what awdmoke was talking about. That copper pipe carries the oil from the block to your oil pressure gauge. In later clubbies there was an electric switch there instead of the pipe and wiring for the oil pressure light. What awdmoke proposes here is for you to screw in a T fitting of the correct thread and fit the oil pressure gauge pipe to one side and the sender for the oil temp switch on the other side. BTW would this give a very accurate reading for the temperature? |

No not really, you don't have the oil flowing past it. Probably more like the block temperature. Don't they usually put it through the sump plug? I've got a probe slid in between the fins on my oil cooler and the front of that individual fin blocked (1mm square). The gauge I use is a small battery powered one from Jaycar. Cost 30 dollars or so. It's not hyper accurate because of the heat sink that the oil cooler provides, but it is very close and is a good reference to see what the oil temp is doing. ![]() http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... &SUBCATID= |

This looks pretty natty though, inside and outside temperature, voltmeter clock and a 3 meter lead on the outside temperature probe. tops, I might get one of these! ![]() http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... &SUBCATID= (Sorry about th hijack) |
