Post subject:  Rover owners with pics...

Hi all, long time no post.

Just wondering if any Rover owners have pics of an ORIGINAL Rocker Cover :?:

I just found out that the BOC has an after-market RC on it and i would like to replace it with an 'original' one.

Anyone got any pics of an original one?

Cheers in advance,

Ian. :D

Mines an 1988, and it looks just like any other plain black rocker cover. Funny thing is that I was reading the latest mini experience last night and on page 71 I thought "hey, that looks just like my rocker cover, except its newer and cleaner!"

So that's what it should look like? In the new ME Mag? But tin, yeah?

Cheers, speedy!

Ian , according to the German version of the British Open sales brochure I have in my collection it's a very boring looking black rocker cover , without even a sticker or plate on it , should be easy enough to find something that looks the same really .

Unfortunately not but put a search for "british open prospekt" on ebay and you'll probably find one , the English sellers seem to call them "prospekt" as well for some reason ....

  Always have a laugh when I see such a crowded Rover engine bay , people used to complain our local mini engine bay was crowded . I'd love to take a Rover mini to the old , semi-retired mechanic near here that started his apprenticeship on the first Morris Minors and worked through mini's while his father was the local dealer , he still complains of lack of space , a Rover would really spin him out ....

Thanx for all the pics, folks. They're a great help. :D

Now, anyone know of anybody trying to flog a black Rocker Cover like that to fit a 1275?

I'd say try anyone who imports front cut's of Rovers (Brickworx are the only ones that come to mind but I'm sure there are others ) , they should be able to get what you need if they haven't got them sitting around ....

Failing that just get a non vented Aussie one (there are some about) , weld up the rivet holes from the morris plates and paint it black , no-one will really know .
