Ta Doc, but i was actually chasing the really short stub stacks, like vizard mentions in his book. It seems like just a low set stack which fits inside an aftermarket air filter. Im running Ramflo filters at the momment. I think he was using K&N ones.

According to Vizard they work, obviously not as well as a longer stack, but it takes away from that sharp edge that exists on the intake into the bore of the carb. He seems to have the flow stats to back his claims up!

That other type looks nice, good radii on the edges!!!

According to Keith Calver these K&N ones don't work, shape is wrong which is why he redesigned them.

I made some `Vizard elliptical design' shaped ones a while back for 40 and 45mm Dellortos and Webers but they won't fit an SU. Got no stocks of `em at the moment.

Im going to modify my throttle shaft and butterfly as per vizard. Got 1 carb stripped this arv. Going to get one of these maniflow manifolds as well. Well hopefully they can knock 1 up to suit the 1 1/4in's?????

Calver stocks the maniflow manifold for the twin 1.25" carbs. Why don't you just get it from him along with the stub stacks? Save on postage that way.

Either way, make sure it has the right port size to suit the twin 1 1/4s. Mini spares flog off the same manifold for twin 1 1/4, twin 1 1/2, & Twin 1 3/4".

Maniflow will make one with 1.25" ports at the carb end, and ports that match the 12G940 inlets on the other end. As in the pics i sent you!

KC will probably have the right sort, but you will have to specify if you want a vac take off (brake booster or vac advance) & if you want a throttle cable bracket.

Best bet is to go with the twin 1.25" maniflow item, and the ultimate filtration kit from KC.

The ramflo elements filter really badly, even when oiled, so I'd bin them all together, and keep your motor healthier! The ITG element that goes with the KC kit is really good at filtering, with very high flow rates.

I agree the Ramflo filters are bad, but the UniFilter replacement foam pads are very good when oiled, and cheap too @ $8.90 each.

Ended up getting a new inlet manifold, got one of the cast C-AEG 488's from Midel was $192 thought that seemed and ok price. Was gunna go maniflow but they are nil stock for like 6weeks, so is KC. So gotta fit the carby kits n get everything back together!!!

One quick q tho, i dont need a vac takeoff from the manifold. It has a large threaded hole in the balance pipe, where i assume a vac pipe would go. Other then just fitting a bolt into it, is there like a neat looking screw in style blanking cap available at all???? Maybe i should post a pic of wat i mean??
