What wheels do you have on and what type of wheel nuts ?????
i think you need the tapered wheel nuts to fit though the the stud holes to hold the wheel in place....I know when i changed mine i needed this tapered wheel nut....

ok, I have cut down four hubs with the one inch spacers as the hubs were stuffed. The one spacers are now on with longer studs but now seem to have a problem. Around 40kmh I get a wobble like theres a blister in the tire? At around 90kmh the car shakes all over. Why? Spacer were machined off in a lathe so are round. Any ideas? |

If they were cut parallel in the lathe there should be no problem, I've done a few of these this way. Go get the wheels balanced, and check they don't wobble.... if they do the spacers are suss. |

Also the spacers should be drilled and coutersunk to bolt through the drum into drive flange to make sure they mount up in the correct place every time - has to be done by law here. |

If you cut down S drums for this purpose, they are already drilled & csk for the screws- just use the 2 long S ones. I have made alloy ones in the past, they are a little lighter but far more work to make. |

I noticed my car got a wobble up yesterday. 1st time ive taken it for a decent drive since i got these Dunlop D01J's, i bought 2 aluminium spacers for the front of my car, they are only bout 8mm thick. They are a universal 4 stud fit so i had to line em up n glue them to the rim. The wheels n tyres got balanced when the tyres were fittted but just wondering if those spacers could be causing it to get a wobble up, as they were not on the rims when they got balanced? Happens from about 90ish onwards. Certainly didnt do that with the Yokys. |

I thought maybe tyres but never really had the problem before adding spacers. Would adding spacers and moving the wheels out enhance unbalanced wheels? |

i get that as well, recently, i good a set of a008 's put on the car drove fine before and now the car makes a rubbing noise, i looked and i can see a spacer, but i dont think im ment to have 2 on there, i looked again and could see that there is the wheel rubbing against the caliper, thought dodgie bob jane, could it be a bearing prob or is it a caliper, any thing over 20ks and under 60 it pulls the at the steering |

Both buztoy and 64mini: I'd really check your cars before you drive them. That sounds unsafe in both cases that require immediate attention. Neither case is like a loose muffler. 64mini: For a spacer to cause a wheel wobble like that sounds well out of order, as spacers are quite close to the axis - it must be set up wrongly. The further out from the axis, the less weight it takes to get out of balance (that's why wheel weights are on the rim). I'd get measurements of the edges of the spacer all the way around, thicknesses and check the fit around the wheel studs. What size wheels are they on? 12" or 13"? buztoy: Get down close and spin the wheels - anything that pulls your steering is unroadworthy. Has someone left off a spacer? If something snags, and pulls your steering right, you could die. |

Problem fixed, I was looking around the front end and the wheel bearing was loose. Tightened it up and away I go not a wobble |
