Hello,
Many years ago I bought a set of "powdercoated" subframes from what was supposedly a reputable mini spares shop. It would have been four or five or more years ago, and have only just pulled the front one out of storage to start building them up for the long term project.
Now these powdercoated frames appear to have some masking tape masking off threads (correct me if I am wrong, but masking tape would be destroyed in the cooking part of powdercoating right?). Anyhow was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and today whilst spraying some paint in the shed a fine mist of overspay got on one of the corners, I quicly got some prepsol on a rag only to find it softened the surfact and the black "Powdercoat" started to smear off.
I am not happy, I traded in a good set of subframes for what wasnt the best set of frames, but it beat having to strip them down myself. Now I find these frames are just painted I assume?
Correct me if I am wrong, but if it does indeed turn out to be paint these may be being returned to the supplier one early morning via their window

.
Cheers Chris
