I just got back from looking at a Brown 1974 Clubman, it has very little rust, the head gasket has blown and it has a yellow sticker... The interior is bad and paint job is crap.

I wnat to strip the mini back and sand blast it and work from there....

What do you think it's worth :?:

Cheers
Ian

how straight are the panels? when you say 'very little' rust, how much do you mean?

Go over the body with a magnet to find out where all of the bog is.......be very careful of a Mini that you cant hear the engine running as it could cost you a substantial amount to fix. If you really want the car, offer half of what they want for it and don't let your heart rule your head!!!

Only rust is in floor pans and under roof channel, not much bog on it, I have a 1976 Clubman that runs well but has rusty body... Would move engine across and best parts of each...

How do you the fix rust under roof channels?

All the panels seem in good condition, I would replace both floor panels tho....

Going to have a look at a running mini with all rust cut out new sills... they are asking about $1500

Ian,

Whats happening mate?
I thought you were going to get yours fixed... what did the mini guy say?

Since you dont know mechanics at all, you will find it hard to transplant a motor from one mini to another. People can help but it might all add up.

Plus the cost of buying and transferring, etc...

Think wisely my young friend.
You already bought one, dont jump into another!!!

Take your time and get it right... there will be better mini's that come and go, dont worry about missing out.

Mark my words, ANYTHING you buy will need work, so dont get stuck with 2 minis that need lots of work and have NONE finished.

Slowly ;)

Peter.
