i couldnt be bothered ordering in a new 1 1/4 inch carby air filter so i just cut a bit of foam (normal spongey stuff, like diswashing stuff) and placed it in there are there any problems with this? like decomposition of the foam |

yes, decomposition alright... once it gets a little back draft from the carbi which they normally do, the fuel will eat that away like an ethioian on a burger with the lot (no offence to anyone that may be ethiopian).... also most filters come with a special oil that is the secret to getting out all the minute impurities in the air that will pass right through a normal paper/foam filter.... if i were u just buy urself one for $5-$15 and sve the sh!t that will stuff you valves and engine up.....should be ok for a day or so but dont recomend it! |

Fore sure! It's definately worth $10-$15!. Even the Lynx Ramflo sponges dissintegrate into tiny chunks of foam, so I'd hate to think what would happen to regular foam... |
