Has anybody ever fitted rover doors onto a clubman shell? Iv'e had a look at the differances in the A panels and was wondering if it's just a matter of replacing the A panel on the clubman and fitting the doors or if it is more difficult than that. Would it be possible to just use the external hinges instead of the internal? The reason I want to do this is because all my locks and handles are busted on my old doors, they also need new window sills and door cards. I also like the look of the rover handles. |

Everything is different , you would need to replace everything between the front body seam (inner and outer A piller 1/4 panels) and the rear body seam doors are a different shape to Aussie doors , the window section of the frame is similar but the lower half of the door is a smidgen longer and different shape . Basically it would be a nightmare and it'd be quicker and easier to get a rover shell and transfer your stuff into it .... |

It would be far easier to fit the rover handles to the clubby door. ![]() |

I have studied this conversion in great depth. My advice: forget it. you need to replace the whole side of the car between the seams. It is MUCH easier to replace the whole front end of the car than it is to convert to Rover doors. |

as above^^ cheepest option would be to sell your aussie shell to a kiwi, and pinch a pom shell from over here while your at it. |

thx guys looks like the rover doors are out of the question. I dont wanna get a new shell cos mines got little rust and is in great condition, And i really dont wanna take that motor out again. So what are my options? Can you buy new replacement parts for clubman doors, handles, locks etc? Iv'e also heard that clubman door handles are notorious for breaking, so if I fix them are they likely just to break a year or two down the track? |

i've never broken a clubman door handle, but the locks are indeed fragile to say the least. |
