What sort of suspension Dixon.....if its hydro....you may have lost pressure and it needs a pump up

I know I already posted a topic about this (was deleted in the delema), but I just want to make sure it is my trailing arm that is routed before I take it off. What happens is this: When I go around corners the back left arm lifts up to high and rubs against the wheel arch, making a horrible noise. When I took the wheel off the other day i was able to lift the wheel up just by the force of removing the wheel nuts. Is this likely to be the trailing arm needing a refurb, or something more sinister? Thanks lads. |

Yeah its hydro, but it hasn't lost pressure. I got Cono at Minicraft in Perth to ahve a look at it, he sold me a refurb kit and gave it a pump up. It hasnt got any lower since then. |

It hasnt got any lower since then.[/quote] Take it back to Cono Dixon, and ask him whats going on....it could be porpoising or it may be something do with one of the other corners....I assume your helper springs are both affixed and OK

The helper springs seem ok. The back end is really bouncy around corners. Cono did tell me to take off the shockers from the front (they were fitted by a previous owner as a mod). He said something about them maybe throwing the back left side down to much around the corners. I took them off, but all that seemed to happen is the steering got lighter and the front sat up when i accelerated. |

place a large screw driver between the trailing arm and the subframe where it mounts and check for play. if there is you need to rebuild the arms the kits are about 50 bucks each. but u need a mini place to do it because you need a special reaming tool and guide to ream the bronze bush. you can give them the car or just the trailinf arms but since you have hydro i would. give them the car. |

I can't see the swing arm bushings causing the symptoms you describe, unless they are totally shot.......if the bushes were shot there would be some banging and carrying on back there....but that dosen't account for the wheel excursion. I really think it is something to do with left rear displacer return valving (maybe  )......happy to be proven wrong...hope you get to the bottom of this (no pun intended)
