Just wondering if there is any difference between drum and disc brake drive shafts?
Cheers

No - no difference with the drive shafts except that there are a couple of different types.

Firstly the outer CV joints on a Cooper S type dic brake is a very different size the drum brake on - but .......... the CVs basically can be tapped off and the right CV joint fitted to that drive shaft.

At the other end, closer to the gearbox, is where the drive shaft differences happen. The pot joint axle can only be used in the pot joints because of the ball bearing cage that is attached to it. The earlier rubber mount universal joint and the Cooper S type Hardy Spicer steel universal joint are the other different types.

To sum it up - any drive shaft can be fitted with the disc brake type outer CV joint. So stay with the gearbox you have
