Post subject:  Spark plugs
Athe moment i am running the d4r83 dizzy+coil, when i used the mini plugs BP6ES, they kept blowing up, however when i used the plugs out of my tx3 turbo BKR6E-11, the car works an absolute treat, the plugs for the nissan pulsar that the ignition came out of also use the same plugs BKR6E-11, or the BKR5E-11. according to ngk the laser and pulsar plugs are for a resistor, they are the same thread size and length. would there be any problems running my car on these plugs, also my plugs seem to be a grey colour, should i go to the BKR7E-11, which is a cooler plug, or is the car just running to lean, i have only done 80kms on this engine so far

what do you mean by "blowing up"?

I have a D4R83 and BP6ES's and I constantly had a wet plug on No1 (not firing). I changed to BP5ES and have had no issues since. BP5ESs are hotter....

No idea about resistor or non resistor plugs sorry

When i mean the plugs blow up after say 10min i will find that the car is running on 3 cylinders, then take a plug out and you wont see it spart. this happened twice so either i was unlucky or the nissan ignition setup needs plugs with a resistor

I had this same problem!

Same dizzy and same plugs.

Turned out to be a bad cylinder and the oil ring was not doing what it should.

Too much oil, plug won't fire, and in turn melts the electrode!

New engine fixed my problem :lol:

well the engine is new(under 500kms), and it wasnt damaging the spark plug in anyway, when i took it out, the plug looked normal a little black cause it was running rich, ever since i have put in the BKR6E-11, it doesnt miss at all the only problem i seem to have is that after driving it around for 80kms, i took the plugs out and they seem to be a greyish colour and they should be brown, i am not sure if i need to go to a cooler plug or make it richer, the static timing on the pulsar dizzy d4r83 is set to 4deg btdc

A grey insulator colour is not bad, blistered white is- but you just can't read plugs like we used to with leaded fuel.
Unless you are running Valvemaster, that will cover the whole plug in brown shite...

The resistor plugs won't hurt it, it's getting hard to find non-resistor plugs these days.
Just watch the plug leads don't have too much resistance. I bin them when they get to 4K ohms.
