Hello All

Has anyone used a $99 headlining off ebay?

I'm a bit wary of them

Steve

I'm actually wondering this myself. A few people have asked this question before, but the it's always usually the same respones: "I've bought one, they look alright, but haven't got around to fitting it yet"..
Glad you asked though Steve, hopefully someones fit one by now (pics would be good :D ).

How many times does this have to come up , and still nobody will say they've used one of them ...... How about we all chip in $5 and buy one and donate it to Adeee for her to use in her mini and give us a full report on it's fit/colour/durability , otherwise this will keep being asked every couple of months .

I bought one of those of ebay and also have fitted it. I think they are good value and fit very well.

They are VERY easy to make, as there really isn't much to making one.

The FIT will entirely depend on the FITTER.

It will be a slow and potentially messy process, and you will have to do a bit of trimming.

I fitted a roof lining in JAM (not an ePay one), and czerial, mrcooms and Duc were all there to watch and help. No swearing or frustration.......pretty easy really.

My trimmer is making me a head lining at the moment. I will let you all know what he charges when its ready, so you can compare price. My trimmer is exBMC and he is hopefully going to use genuine lining, circa 1971. I expect to pay a bit more than $99 for that......

This thread needs to be a sticky

I made my own for the van from a very rough template. It fits well with a few wrinkles in the middle section from too much fabric. I made mine out of light weight carpet to suit the rear cargo bay.

Nothing too interesting, all the bits to assemble are there, just not the time to finish the panel beating. Funny thing is, I'm dead keen to do the headlining, but can't until I finish the paint.

just a tip for when you do the headlining, make sure you attatch it to the sunroof
hole first so that you can stretch it out. Hard to describe. basically when we put the
roof lining in Elmo, we put it in around the sides and back first and then we glued it to the sunroof cutout, and once the chrome lip went around it bunched up a bit as we could
not stretch it out more. It has sorted itself now and is not wrinkled. but yeah u dont wanna take the risk that it doesnt.

I got my roof lining made up and it looks great in there. tghere are no wrinkles and
it looks fantastic. a place called trick trimmers in chipping norton. great job they did. the roof lining looks like it has been there from day 1.

what's the point... we'll all have our notepads out waiting for the answer the L, the U and E and we'll get...

"I don't like the colour".
