 Post subject: what should i do

hey ya mini owners i have a 1974 mini clubman and it is soon to be powered by a swift 1.3. i have been havin doubs wheater i should turbo the motor or supercharge it. i want to get it to go as fast as it can go with out wheel spin. and how much hp can i have b4 i have wheel spin. thanx

Haha. Mate i get wheelspin in my 1100. Its not the horsepower as such, its the torque. And its not a given horsepower when wheelspin kicks in. :wink:

i would say a supercharger would pull harder from low down. Turbos seem to be a popular mod for this engine, id go with that... check out twincamturbo.com if you havent seen it before :)

Well if you still got thw 1100 in it and still saving to get the swift then "soon to be" is a little optimistic I'd say. Give it like like 2 years +/-

Mod, how about getting the swift in first!! Then seeing how you like it!
If you need more power, do so after you get the feel for what you have.

You might find that first time starting, smooth, silent operation, five speeds? good power and fuel consumption is a winner!!! :shock:
