Know the price of what you are purchasing first. With mine it was a Mini Manual and He bibbed against me for the final price so he did not lose money he purchased it for orginaly. Interesting to see how it comes about. May be a i'll need to get a new name now. |

Gafmo, Do a google search and learn about a product called sniperight. It won't stop people withdrawing items from sale, but it could stop what you refer to, as the seller would'nt have time to outbid you (unless they bettered your top bid before the end of the auction). My first eBay auction a few years ago finished at like 01:50 in the morning and I stayed up hitting refresh repeatedly as the auction drew to a close (ah the joy at winning!). Nowadays I set a limit on sniperight and leave it to run. If I don't win, I walk away satisfied I went to my limit. If I win, SWEET!! |

The seller has two names....one he sells with and the other he purchases with. He did out bid me. He orginaly purchased the book for Aud$100 (sucker) and I almost got it for $35. Stuff him I'll keep an eye out for him again. |

Well you just have to be patient I guess... Look for the ebayers with the huge good feedback ratings (like 50 or more, the more the merrier), make sure the feedback is pretty legit by looking at the items sold, who gave the feedback and the age of the feedback. Basically, just do your homework on the guy and hope that he is not dogey... I recently bought an Ipaq from a dude down the road from me, i got it for 25% off RRP and it was brand new in a box still with HP's factory seal on the box. It's almost like pot luck... If you think and item's dodgey, or if anything is dodgey, don't bid... Another trick to use is to bid on items ending when you are still awake, like 9pm etc. That way you can be awake and watch it end and not get surprised next morning. just some thoughts... |

I don't understand how one person can have two e-bay accounts. If you want to sell you have to enter your credit card account number and you can't use the same credit card twice. It won't let you do that. Am I missing something? |

To sell stuff you need a credit card, but if you are only buying you only need a ISP email address. |

Gaf I am with you... Ebay is a crock of crap. ![]() Its all about knowing price of what you want. Most stores if you tell them you can get the item for $x elsewhere, they usually bargain you up, but you get a brand new item for less..! |
