Post subject: | Bad Compression, Quick Fix? |
G'Day everyone, Thought I would throw this question out for the grand collective. I seem to have problem with the compression on cylinder one of my 998. I noticed recently that it was bubbling oil from the head gasket (near engine id plate). I have since cleaned both surfaces (block & head) and replaced all top end gaskets, also checked the values for the cylinder in question. Re-testing compression, the repairs failed to rectify the issue. Following an earlier mentioned forum topic I placed oil in the cylinder - this seem to help elevate the compression which indicates that the problem may lie in the rings. My question is that since I have my annual pink slip this week is there a dirty option to help prevent the plug from fouling and with the running of the engine? Thanks in advance..... |

Using deisel is to flush your engine.. when you change oil you usually mix half deisel and half oil and put it in your engine (not in the cylinders).. Let it run for a while (till then engine is really hot) all it does is clean the engine.. has nothing to do with fixing compression on cylinders.. As for that auto trans fluid seems it's just supposed to remove carbon, I don't think it'll help with your compression either... I'm not sure if there is any cheap quick fix.. |
