I live in W.A and was wondering about the mini club in WA, whats the advantage of joining.

I am only on my L plates at the moment so no point joining until I have P's which hopefully is around October :D.

I just want to meet more mini owners and people that my want to teach me a few things and us me for heavy lift etc :P Also I wouldn't mind some help down the track with my mini.

Thanks Ian 8)

Gday there Dude.

There are a few clubs here in WA. Just depends on what you want and where you live.

- Mini owners Club of WA. Which is linked to Mini craft in Bayswater.

-Southern Districts Mini Club. located down in Rockingham

-Mini Car Club of WA. which is another Perth based club. This one is CAMS affiliated, you could get involved in some sporting events.

Im a member of Mini owners club. its kool. :)

memberships for a year are ussually about 30 dollars for yourself..or 40 dollars as a family.

You can join on ur L's. Cant hurt!!

I used to be a member of the Mini Owners club many many moons ago, but unfortunately I was living in Albany down south at the time. That meant the only time I could really see them was at the "Round The Houses" classic car rally. As a result I left the club and never got around to joining again.

Now I'm living in Perth and close to having my Mini running again I'm thinking about re-joining. I'm sure I will in the near future, it's just a matter of getting out from under my Mini and signing the bits of paper :P

I don't think they have a web site, but here is their contact Ph 9276 5665

I joined the SDMC a year ago, they are socially oriented & have had some great events and met many mini/moke nuts http://www.sdminiclub.org.au/
It is too far from you, but it gives you an idea.

I intend joining the Mini Car Club too, with an eye to doing some motor sports. The MOA is more into shows & restorations, but the clubs usually extend invitations to the others for most events.

The perks of joining any car club is the community of like minded people you get to know. Those that can say "come round saturday afternoon and i will show you how to do that" or "I have a spare one you can have".

You also get to know people who have been directly or indirectly involved with minis since they first came out in Australia. A lot of us have actually had spanners on every single nut and bolt on a mini over many years and can save you a lot of time and money, by advice, when you need to repair something.

Added to that, clubs give you the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of events that vary from outright competition to social cruises and shows. Its very foolish to have a mini and not be a club member.

The only thing for me is that I can't drive to any events or meetings etc

Where are the events/meets held?

Cheers Ian

you and me both Mike. he he. whens our drag meet going to happen??? lol

I'm a memeber of the mini owners club. problem is i dont get the chance to get to many meets. from what ive heard is that the best thing is the knowledge base. like Ausmini there are a lot of mini enthusiasts out there with a love like all of us for mini's.
my advice is join the club, on L Plates or not. get a parent to drive you to the meets you want to participate in. or drive with ya parent. good driving experience.

You can pick up an application at Minicraft, ontop of the drinks fridge :P Other than that I'm not too sure. I think I'll pick up a form when I go in there sometime this week.

Well less looky looky and more touchy touchy ;)

Let me know if you aren't due in there any time soon and I'll just scan and email a copy through to you if you want. I might even be popping in there this arvo for a quick chat...
