Hiya guys, I finally got the shits with waiting for a reply from Minispares about a certain component and just ordered the lot.

I've got the receipt printed out, but they say they email ya for confirmation and postage costs before they ship, so ya know how much it's gonna cost all up. Havent received an email or had my credit card charged yet(three days since the order)

Can anyone out there that's ordered from Minispares, gimme an idea on how slow these pom's really are?????

Oh yeah, and if ya order one of their manifolds THEY DONT COME WITH CARBY STUDS make sure ya order them seperately

I've had about 20 shipments over the years, they have NEVER advised me shipping costs. :x Could be anything depending how they ship.
I always tell them to POST it, and why- it's cheaper, you get a bigger duty free limit when it lobs here, and you don't get charged extra `handling charges' by UPS etc at this end.

Downside- if stuff goes missing it's not trackable. But I've lost nothing yet.

<edit> They won't hit your credit card until they are ready to ship. But don't assume goods are in stock when you order. I waited 3 weeks once for their elves to knock up a set of 1.5 rocker gear.. :?

ahhh, K. Thanks doc. I remembered one of your previous posts about UPS getting hit by customs earlier. the order is about 250 bucks or so. Should be okay, but I went by Datapost anyway(they reckon UPS is cheaper!!)

Ordered a manifold, studs, gaskets, window winders, and one or two other things I think

UPS is cheaper for them- Haha. I reckon they get a kickback. :x

<edit> BTW I think `Datapost' is just another private courier. Mail is the go.

I ordered a set of 1.5:1 forged rockers, thick walled shaft and posts, they took 5 days to confirm the order but took 2 weeks to bill the visa. UPS charged me $104 duty for the import but would have been more had it not been for the fellow fudging the year(a 1969 Clubman...lol)as the earlier the car the cheaper the duty. I was prepared to pay this for the small increase in power without doing a camshaft change...

I've never been contacted abot shipping either & they don't tell you if something isn't in stock.

Overall the service is good except for their response to queries (they rarley answer emails) the best way is to phone them: 0011 44 1707607700

Yeah, I can attest to that Morrie, I think I had to request my password about ten times before they finally sent it to me

And, i've been meaning to call em all the time, but with the time difference, and my work hours, it seems to get past me all the time

Their service is great on the phone, I used to get responses from:

[email protected] & [email protected] but even they don't respond anymore.

What do people think of their new site?

The search is better, sometimes too many responses & the categories aren't perfect.

I think it sucks, compared to the old one. Takes pages of scrolling to find what you want. Not enough items per page...
And yeah they stuffed my password too- I finally got in, but next time it locked me out again. Emailed them, twice, heard nothing.
F*** 'em, I'll shop elsewhere from now on, or get a catalog & use the fax again....
As for the forum  ... I'll stick with the MM one.

Phil, my first and only order from them was a shocker. I paid for the goods, got a receipt in the mail a week later. Then another week passed and I got a receipt for postage. Then 2 months passed and I didn't see anything!!!!!! Emailed them no less than 10 times and finally got a refund.

 Not happy Jan.....

Ordering from them is like blind faith... it's almost like a gamble  So far though it's turned out ok for me but it's only been small purchases...
