Post subject: | Problems with the wipers |
OK Mo is now 99.5% ready for rego and the wiring harness has been replaced, new relay in place, fuses all good, all lights, indicators, horn and interior light all work, he starts perfectly and everything seems OK, BUT... the wipers are just not working. There seems to be 3 wires, one for earth and then two others.. Can anyone explain which ones which? They are non intermittant type, so on or off... but they are off now... ![]() I have tried both wired up, and one or the other wired up. Earth is good. All other earths are good too... |

Sounds like the wiper motor or connector block has problems. If there are 3 wires- one is earth, one goes to the switch, the other is wired live for the park function. If you put 12V to both it should work...???! |

does park function mean park as in return the wipers to their original position when you turn the switch off? Damn I didnt think of that. ![]() |

Damn I didnt think of that. ![]() Yes that's what it means. Maybe the park switch (in wiper) is stuffed... but that usually just means it won't park. BTW, 850s had NO park function. Poverty model- U parked those yourself!! ![]() |

OK. Checked and its a 998 deluxe "comes with park" wiper set. From the front, the points are 'e' presumed earth, then there are two more. From the front are they park, then move or is the front one connected to the switch and the rear one the park? If there is a circuit and the power is good, is it possible the bushes are burnt out or is it stuffed? |

I'd take it off the car to test it properly.... |

Yer I know it's just an idea. I took mine out the other day and was wondering why 3 rubber grommets are thier on Installation . I can't see the wiper motor making to much noise |
