Does anyone have any idea where I could source a set of metric carb jet drills from in Australia? I'm looking for a set of drills ranging from 160 to 200 in 0.05mm increments (ie 1.60mm, 1.65mm, 1.70mm. . .on up to 2.00mm).
Anyone have any ideas?

Most large engineering supply mobs have them
SKF, the bearing people supply them in both number & letter size, they come
in two small plastic trays
I know because I bought some when I was running methanol in the bike

excuse my ignorance fellas....but....is there anything special about these drill bits except for the custom sizes :?:

....they would want to be accurately (symetrically) ground and sharpened so that you got the advertised size....

Nothing realy special about the drills, & with methanol you have a larger
tollerance, campared to petrol, between too lean & too rich

I've never really liked drilling jets - when i was Drag racing the mixture was always inconsistent with drilled jets and not with store-bought ones...

(Holley carb)

FOund out later that there are chamfers and radii on the inlet and outlet of the jet that can be highly affected by changing the size of the orifice without modifying the chamfer to compensate...

That said, any engineering should should be able to sell you a set of Number drills ..... any number of variations in size then :-)

if that still isnt enough, there are techniques for re-sharpening the drills that will make them drill over, or even UNDERsize :wink:
