Went to the local wreckers today to look for some front seats for the LS. I found some from a 1991 FORD FESTIVA WA Hatchback that should fit in without any problems as they are just under 500mm wide... I will need to modify the runners to fit the original brackets but that should be easy enough....

They are reasonable condition and for $110.00 for the pair I think they are a good buy. They seem comfy enough and will put on a couple of lambswool covers I already have to finish the job..

Also hope to have the LS back on the road next week with the new motor in and running...

Cant wait to see them in the car.... make sure you post some pics once they are in.

and if you'd be so kind as to let me hijack the thread...
if you make modificates to the subframes on the seats do you need to get them engineered?

I believe here in Victoria, but am open to correction that if you keep the original Mini seat brackets then you don't need an engineers report??

But being an old boilermaker/welder I am sure that my welds and metal work skills will be up to a very good standard..

Photos will be taken during and after completion of the job and be posted on my Clubman LS website...

Changed my mind on the Festiva seats and bought some out of a 1994 Charade for $90.00/pair. Drivers side seat has a tear on the top corner but nothing that can't be fixed.. The colour just happens to fit in with the rest of the colour scheme.

I have worked out how to fit them and will start maybe next week once I have the Mini back from the garage...

Dad's got Swift GTi seats in his clubby. They just fit, just. But he has lambswool covers as the last owner (my dad didnt do the mods, lucky him  ) wasn'ty lucky enough to find seats of the correct colour an not many late model 'hot hatchs' are painted in 'devil yellow' LOL. Congrats on ur find, definitely post pics when done! Also when done, tell me if your seatbelts get caught below the seat and must be put on before door is shut, happens in the clubby all the time, but not in my car!
