Just been sent the link by a mate , looks impressive , shame I didn't know about it when I was there a couple of years ago ..... I did see the blue and white mini with the spoties in the bonnet near the tourist wharf one evening though and it looked awsome .

chopchop , go to the Daihatsu dealer a couple of streets back from the convention center on Hong Kong Island itself , they have the Mira Gino , the one with the mini-ish front . Comes standard with minilites and available in various trims and accessories like the original mini , even a monte carlo rally style roof rack ..... I would almost be tempted to try and get one of them before the BMW mini as to my way of thinking they are closer to the original (economical motoring for the average person , small but reasonable motor ....) . Yes , I'm ready for the insults now ......

Yeah , I've got a brochure here , if the scanner will talk to the computer I'll put it up . There is a 2 door model and according to the salesman I was talking to they could order one with a turbo which was known as the S , though not advertised as it . If you saw one from a distance or at night you had to take a 2nd glance at it to see if it was a mini or a gino .....

Here's the brochure , this is for the turbo one but has different guages to what you've shown . When I saw the Mira we have in Aust I thought it could be redesigned at the front to look mini-ish , a bit of a restyle of this one (mainly the bottom of the grille) and it would look great . 770 kg and 47 kilowatts not too bad either , compared to the original mini .

I know it's the cheap knockoff version, but that looks so much more mini'ish then the bmw version. I think i'd actually rather this one then the other (if for some reason old mini's were wiped off the face of the planet).

I thought it was closer to the ideals of the original , no luxury , just function .
