Pull the door trims off and get some one to lock the door from both inside and outside while you watch what is happening and whats not. Its a mechanical thing and may just need an adjustment.

If the key part is not working then it may need a locksmith but the last lockie I went to just said buy a newer car so I just smiled and nodded at him while inside I wished that he already had had his very last BJ. There is no crueler punishment.

Very interesting. I assume they would be the 80's Camry?

is it possible to get the original mini locks re-keyed to be the same as the ignition? cos the door locks are quite shallow

Yeah they were from new, but as mine has been changed only the boot and ignition are keyed the same, i would like to get the door changed. How do i go about getting this done?
Can someone come to me to do it? do i have to take the lock out of the door?

its always cheaper if you pull the lock out and take it to a locksmith workshop ,my shop would charge around 30-40 to rekey the barrell ,so use that as a guide ,in this it would also get a good service with new springs and tumblers (toyota) :) best to check if they specialise in auto though
