Ahoy there mateys,
i know of the nissan dissy mod and gemini starter mod but is there a alternative fuel pump that can be used on a mini. The reason i ask is that my car is supercharged and i have a feeling my pump is on the fritz, as when i give it some spirited acceleration then brake soon after its starting to stall. so i investigated under the bonnet and i watched my fuel filter as i revved the engine and it pretty much emptied before filling back up.
So is there an alternative or should i just stick with new mini type one?

I've found the fuel injection type pumps (rotary vane ??? Not sure of their proper name but they are a round tube a couple of inches thick and 4 or 5 inches long) , the only thing is they go best with a fuel pressure regulator as well to control the pressure for the SU (assuming that's what you're running with your setup ...) .

You might also want to check your fuel line size. You can upgrade your fuel pump all you want but if the lines cant carry as much fuel as the engine needs your pushing a soft brown substance up a hill with a stick. I remember when we supercharged my mates VR Boongadore with a CAPA Vortech kit all the fuel lines had to be upgraded along with the pump and pressure regulator. Mind you that was an injected car and I'm not sure on the whole need of a pressure regulator on a carby car.

You can just get a facet solid state aftermarket job, you can get them with all sorts of pressure settings. They are usually available at repco etc, for around $80-100 I have one at home that is rated at about 10PSI, and would do the job really well. But you also need a fuel pressure regulator, as SU carbs like low pressure, (not low volume).

Ideally set it at 2.5 PSI. How do you tell the pressure? Easy; fit an inline fuel pressure gauge unde the bonnet. :wink: :D

I am about to sell the Facet pump and the holley fuel pressure regulator as I have gone back to 'period' style with an SU pump and a filter king regulator. Send me a pm if interested!

I will vouch for the solid state facet pump. Works like a dream, tells you when you have no fuel :lol: (loud ticking noise)
