Post subject:  Grills for Rover Front

Just got a rover front and wondering what options i have regarding the grill. Can i just put any round nose grill on?

Are the headlights on a rover front any different from morris?

Since a rover is a roundy you can do what you want. :D

The Rover front differs mainly due to the lip on the bonnet that holds the moustache of the grille, and that will cause your some grief if using a round nose grille. Do you have an internal or external release bonnet (the grilles are different)?

Headlights are the same, you can basically fit any round headlight onto them (do a search on H4 on here and you will see that people have used Pajero or Honda headlights to replace the sealed beam). 8)

Not necessarily an easy job.

The Rover grille mounting holes are extremely close to the edge of a morris grille. On my front, i have 3 holes that do not get covered by a morris grille, so they will need welding up before the painjob happens.

In this picture of my car, you can JUST see the 3mm holes next to the grille, between the grille and the indicator and between the grille and the headlight. They are ALL morris bits fitted to a Rover front cut.

The easiest thing to do is trial fit the stuff yourself. Each car is slightly different.... you might be lucky enough to get away with it.

Thanks for the help guys, i was a bit worried about the actual shape of the grill and whether they would all fit in nicely underneath the moustache. I'll decide what one i like, patch up all the holes and then get drilling the ones i need.
