Just went down to Vicroads just to check out my mini details and such. Its an 850 from the YMA2S1. Problem is that they couldn't find the body number on the system. If they cant find it what happens from here? |

What did you try , just the body number , the body number and the other 5 or so digit number beside it on the plate or just the other (BMC) number ? |

I tried the whole lot together. - should i have just used the number that is actually stamped on the body? |

Try it , it's the actual body number rather than the body number and a BMC ID number for their warranty purposes . |

Went back to VicRoads and they still couldn't find it. Tried an engine number and it came up as a Hilux engine. ![]() Does anyone know what happens if the car has totally dissapeared off any records? What do you have to do to get it registered? |

if the car has been off the road for a long time, i would say 70's the RTA or VICROADS woldn't have added it to there computer system when it was updated from a paper trail to a computer database. I was told when i went looing for mine, that although they may not have it on record they will happily register it as it has a factory Identification plate that would have at one point in time been registered. Don't worry too much, just gget your Roadworthy done go to the RTA/VICROADS and pay your money. Cheers Aaron |

I don't know about other states, but my 64 850 body number is down as NOT RECORDED on my rego papers.. talking to a chick at transport sa they said that before a certain date, 70s or 80s i'm not sure they either didn't record it or they recorded it onto microfilm.... in which case it goes down as NOT RECORDED |

Some time ago I found a Victorian site that for something like $10 they would trace an old rego number and show who had owned it in its history and where it was now. Blowed if I can find it again ![]() |
