Yes i've done a search and there's a few of them BUT I'm looking for photos of everyones work for installing central locking kits.
most of the photos in the threads are no longer working

just want more pics as I will be doing this conversion for my alarm, called up two audio/security places and told me that it cant be done with minis, one said it will cost a lot as its time consuming.

I've installed central locking kits twice now so pretty confident about it but not that sure with minis.

so photos and experiences from others will help a lot

No idea if you could adapt this for Clubmans, maybe send an email to them and ask?

The major problem with central locking for clubman type door handles is that the lock mechanism is alot hard to move than the locking mechanism for newer and most other old cars... basically it means that most standard central locking kits dont have a motor powerfull enough to lock and unlock the door.....

i know someone on here had this exact problem about 6 months ago, when they lubricated the locking mechanism it really well it the central locking could work for a few days but then it would stiffen up agan and the motor would not be able to pull the lock open.

im not sure what the range is like when it comes to central locking kits, but get the one with the most powerfull motor.

I saw a central locking kit in Strathfield Car Radio yesterday for about $99?

Was advertised as a heavy duty actuator set.

Just taking this thought a step further, could you not take the locking mechanism from another, more modern car and fit it into the Mini door and then fit central locking.

Has anyone done this that anyone knows about?

I would say you'd have to get the change inspected by an engineer if you swap the locking mechanism to one from a newer car... dont quote me on that becuase i could be wrong, but thats what hot rodders need to do when they remove door handles and put the lock button "under" the door.
