My tacho looks like this from the back.

Other tachos look like this, with an extra (+ve?) connection...

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THAT!?

Also, the light thats at the bottom of the speedo is the light that's not used, right?

Im not 100% sure about your questions but, I got my triple guage thing from a 1275 LS, I believe they can be used for (becasue on my car there are two unsed one on tacho one on speedo) Handbrake? and Brake failure warning light for mini's with dual brake cylinders. Being about a '78 this would make sense. OH and I got my coil line attached to that 'extra' +ve? thing. It works so I'll leave it.

77/78 Clubman with CLIP ON speedo cable (white needles) had one type of tacho, and all earlier Clubmans with screw on speedo cable had the other type.

can't remember which one goes with which, but yea...I got caught out once when swapping them around.

Thanks GT.

Yeah im fairly sure the printed circuit is the same. My pc might have been from a later model one, as it originally had that circuit for the extra tacho terminal.

We'll go for the obvious then. Is it from a clubby or a rover? :D
