A 1962 Morris 850, unregistered since 1986, located in Canberra. I spent the whole day to buy this car, drove down to Canberra in the borrowed V6 Commadore Ute and Uhaul hire trailer. She cost me $2000 and will be my future project.

I will get to work on her after I do my european trip next year, as to what I am going to do is undecided, she does need a fair bit of work, the undercarriage is need of attention, exhaust is completely rusted out, the rubber boot on the front driftshaft has split open and who knows how long its been like that for. I always believed that early minis only came with Hydro suspension but this 850 has rubber cones so I assume that somewhere down the track the owner replaced them. |

My 1960 850 has rubber and not hydro I found out the other day when I went down to get the non exsistant hydro pumped up  .

my sisters 63 850 has rubber aswell. i think hydro started around 67 |

My wife worked in Narranderra for a year. I flew out there every second week and stayed the weekend. Beautiful clean air, wide open spaces, whisper quiet at night.......brilliant! Just don't drink at the 'top pub' at night  interesting locals.......
