Never seen 185/45 R13, but I have seen 195/40 or maybe it was 195/45 R13 on a couple of Minis.

has anyone put 185 tyres on there car as i am looking at putting 185 tyres on my 13inch by 7inch mags and was wondering if anyone has done it i've seen minis in miniworld with 185 tyres but i have never seen any in australia. any help |

185 will be fine, its the other ratio number that may be the problem. Are they 185/50/13, 185/45/13?? Anything like 185/60/13 will not fit. |

I've never seen a 185x13 that would have the right diameter for a Mini - but that doesn't mean you wouldn't find one if you search hard enough. Any tyre shop should be able to get you 175/50x13. Several brands available. A few places will be able to get you 195/45x13. Only place I know of in Melbourne is Stucky Tyres in Sydney Road who have Dunlops. |

No - you'll need a steering rack that has a reduced turning circle so that they won't rub on the inner guard, and unless you fit hilos and jack the car right up you'll have to cut the front and back guards |

VicMini13 do you know where i can get a reduced turning circle steering rack from as i wont to fit 175s or 185 and i have been told that they still have there full lock problems so i thought if i got one of those racks it would solve that problem |

you may get away with it. Depands on the offset of the rims you use. I've got a Rover with a standard rack (which I've been told is very similar turning circle to the Aussie ones), but the wheels a slightly further forward because of the different subframe. When I had 5.5x13 Performance rims with 175/50x13 rubber it used to just touch when on full lock. I'm now running 7x13 Performance rims with 195/45x13 and the rub is no worse. I haven't worried about the touching, I've learnt to back off the wheel a little bit when I hit the lock and I hear the rub. You'll have more trouble if you don't cut the arches, with the tyres rubbing the top of both the front and back arches, and catching on the front edge of the front arch when turning - (well before you hit the lock) |

you could use the "Sortspack" rack fitted to the Sportspack MPi from factory, but it's very expensive. and honestly you don't need it allways, only with wheels that hav an large offset to the inside like the Sportspack wheels i use my 13x7 wheels with the normal rack and there is more than enough space at full lock |

the off set of my mags are 2.5inch from the stud pattern to the back of the mag and 4.5inch from the stud pattern to the front of the mag how much of the guard do you end up cutting out do you have to cut the back out to |
