Just wondering is it possible to use a generic PCV valve off another car make for the mini?

I was advised to use a holden valve by a mini workshop

I know you can buy these new but its kinda expensive and just want to know 1st if there's an alternative way.

Cheers

Most other PCVs do not go straight into the inlet manifold like the Mini one does. Many go to a connection on the carb's throttle, eg on downdraft Webers (Fiat, etc).
So they don't have the diaphragm valve thingy which regulates flow vs vacuum level.
