I've seen people stab it right through with a big screwdriver, and get some torque that way - I'm a fan of the chain grip myself - el cheapo supercheap oil filter remover. KB |

If that fails, a big screwdriver through the side and use the handle to turn it. I speak from experience. ![]() |

When looking at filter from front of car it need's to be unscrewed fom right to left, you could try using a screwdriver or a small blunt chisel and give it a tap with a hammer on the lip of the FILTER in the direction that it has to come off, DO NOT hit the filter housing.Make sure that you oil the seal on new filter and do not over tighten it. |

Yep i'm a stabber when they are stubborn. Read the packaging for correct fitment (and take it into practice), and you'll never have a bastardly tight oil filter again ![]() |

Apparently it want anticlockwise. When i had finished stabbing it and turning it the wrong way, there was almost no solid filter left to stab, But when i decided, well father decided it was the wrong way, He just got it off. |
