Just installed the aluminium dipstick tube I bought from Keith Calver, and not only does it look bloody unreal, it is a perfect tight fit! There will be no oil leaks from this baby!! 8) 8)

If anyone has a leaky dipstick tube, get one of these little beauties!

Cheers

Doc, did you need a longer dipstick because the oil stopped reaching the end of the old one? :P

Yes I know it is too short, (is an old A series one) but that's OK. Because there is no centre pickup (wife's car) I just overfill it up to the mark. No oil starving on corners. 8)
Motor is a 1275 A+ from 81 Moke.

Some times when you get leakey dipsticks, it can be a build up of blow by in the engine trying to escape, its always good to check and make sure ll ur pcv valves and vents are venting! (and pistons....well u know the rest)....

pics are good 8)

I assume you get a new dipstick with the tube in order to be to be able to get an accurate reading?

Any dipstick designed to work with the A series engine with metal dipstick tube will fit. I checked and the normal dipstick also fits. I decided to get a new dipstick just cos I wanted too!!
