What you will need to do is make a linkage that goes on the square handle shaft that has another hole about 2 inches away on a 45 deg tilt to the normal.
The cable can attach to that.
I can illustrate if you'd like? :D

Are you starting with sliding wiindow doors with the little flipper inside handle?

If so disasemble to the handle and take the flipper off, you'll see the flipper used on the inside to open the door has a square hole the outer handle goes through.

Buy from sommerford mini the rope door pull about $20 and one end has the square hole that is at the handle end and the other has a hole for a screw that goes up to the underside of the window.

I'll see if I have pictures for you I probably will.

I have gotten $15 items from them in the past and its only cost around 5-10 for postage.

I have all of the original 850 parts and service manuals with great exploded diagrams of how everthing is put together and all part numbers. I'll look this afternoon and see if I can scan them for you.
